Great Plates: Rogue Estate BBQ

On July 29th our friends at Torino Espresso +Bar hired Rogue Estate's Catering gang to cook and serve a gourmet caliber BBQ Dinner to celebrate their one year anniversary. We sourced all out ingredients locally, including organic pasture raised pork from Melo Farms and served up these great plates: A VIP menu of BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, BBQ Spare Ribs, Detroit BBQ Co's FrankenBakon, Mustard Coleslaw, Smoked Mac & Cheese and Fresh Dill Pickles put smiles on a lot of faces.  Photos by Robbie Small and EatItDetroit. -///

Eggs from our friends at Oliver Farms, Tomatoes & Radish fresh from a farm vendor at Royal Oak Farmer's Market and herbs from The Rogue Estate garden including Sorrel & Licorice Basil and finishing kick from pickled green peppercorns.

Great Plates: The Brunch Underground

On Sunday Ian, Deb and Bob were fortunate enough to score reservations at a local "pop up" brunch club in Metro Detroit called "The Brunch Underground". The locally sourced (and well executed) menu:

--Bloody Mary bar featuring McClure's Mix & Pickles -- An open-faced duck eggs benedict entree, one with crispy pork belly, another with house-made tempeh and sauteed greens with a lightly dressed sprout salad and house made vegetarian kimchi. -- A petite scoop of house-made, locally grown, organic raspberry-ginger sorbet. -- Chazzano coffee

Great Plates: Recycled Donuts

A half dozen of Saturday's stale chocolate donuts needn't go to waste: throw in some milk, eggs and assorted nuts & berries and bake at 350 for a decadent Sunday breakfast of bread pudding. -///

Great Plates – Corridor Sausage at Tashmoo

Corridor Sausage Co, the highlight of any Tashmoo Biergarten experience represented at the Spring Fling on May 20th in Detroit's Eastern Village. This delicious spread included The Bacon & Beer Brat, Moroccan Lamb & Fig, Vietnamese Chicken and a bacon soft pretzel with mustard cheese dip. -///
